Bilal Hassan, PhD

Bilal Hassan is a political scientist with specialized expertise in comparative politics, governance, public policy, political behaviour, and public opinion. He applies quantitative and mixed-methods approaches to examine institutional trust, democratic legitimacy, decentralisation, public-sector performance, and workplace democracy.

He previously held research and postdoctoral positions at the University of Bergen, where he contributed to research on child protection, parental freedom, violence against children, democratic parenting, and subnational responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bilal is the author or co-author of 12 publications, including articles in Political Psychology , Journal of Social Policy , and Economic and Industrial Democracy .
